James Jas Alexander Crockett was born in October 1843 in Wythe, Virginia, the son of Narcissa and Gloster. He married Ann White and they had five children together. He then married Ann White on December 23, 1865, in Wythe, Virginia. He also had two daughters from another relationship. He died on December 14, 1935, in his hometown at the age of 92.
